My grandpa had a crap load of old poles from the early 30s and 40s if not earlier than that and they are taking up my shed room ! lol. But he has regular poles….some that now i guess we would call ugly sticks…but these old Bamboo fly rods Id like to know more about.And willing to get rid of some of them unless I just display them somewhere.Would sure appreciate another Fishing Fan to give me some input. I LOVE to fish and always have.But I dont fly fish.Hey….a bad day of fishin is a good day of drinkin. lol. ANyone know a thing about the old rods ?

I have bought a fly-fishing rod.
I have the option of four piece or two piece.
Of course, four piece is more convenient because it packs away smaller. But there must be some problem with a four-piece rod otherwise everyone would get one.

I am thinking of getting a four-piece 6 weight 9ft for river fishing.
I have the option of a two-piece eight weight 9ft.

The information on the river i plan to fish said 5-7 weight is ideal, so 6 is best right? but is it okay that it is four-piece?

Yea, well i just want some tips for fishing trout, like what flies to use, i know how to cast and how to fight a fish, so, please help.

My buddy and I will purchase a deep V saltwater boat for retirement. I want to catch large and small game fishes like tuna, swordfish, mahimahi…etc. What is the best rod and reels to purchase for fish weighing approx. 40lbs-1200lbs?

I Like to fish a fairly small river the Powell River to be specific for smallmouth and the clinch for fairly large trout. I’d like to keep it fairly cheap any ideas?

I have inherited a fly rod which sat unused in an attic for a number of years . The reel just "free spins" and there doesn’t appear to be any drag action at all- Is it broken, or do I just need to adjust it somehow? I’d really like to use this takle to fish with, but just don’t know if it is usable. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I know i’ve heard of one but i could not find it when i searched cabela’s website, and i really want to learn how to fly fish but don’t want to buy the whole set-up and not do it, and this way i could learn to practice indoors and such.

I have been fishing since I could walk (mostly saltwater) but I have never been trout fishing before in a mountain stream. From what I hear, trout fishing is very tricky and requires a lot of skill and patience. I will be fishing in the Toccoa river in North Georgia.

What type of tackle should I use and what type of bait? Lures? Worms? Flies? How should I fish for them? What tactics should I use? I will be using a light spinning rod and I have chest waders as well. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
