I have bought a fly-fishing rod.
I have the option of four piece or two piece.
Of course, four piece is more convenient because it packs away smaller. But there must be some problem with a four-piece rod otherwise everyone would get one.

I am thinking of getting a four-piece 6 weight 9ft for river fishing.
I have the option of a two-piece eight weight 9ft.

The information on the river i plan to fish said 5-7 weight is ideal, so 6 is best right? but is it okay that it is four-piece?

im a veteran fresh water trout fly fisherman and an avid saltwater fisherman, but ive yet to take the leap into saltwater fly fishing. im going to be visiting Belize, which im told has excellent flats and mangrove fishing. i need to buy a fly fishing rod and reel to do the job. i pretty much just need a versatile setup that can handle permit,bone-fish, small to medium tarpon and snook. what is a good recommended weight/ size/class ?

I dont have very much money but I still really want to learn how to fly fish. I am thinking about buying the Martin Fly Fishing Rod & Reel Combo – 8′ Rod for . Is this a good rod and reel combo for a beginner or is harder to use because its so cheap.
What other inexpensive combos would you recommend for a beginner fly fisherman?

i can not find any information on this rod that was left behind when my great grand father died, It is a very old 8-9 foot bamboo fly fishing rod in good condition. The logo label on it has worn a bit but i think i was able to make out what it said for the most part.. Looks as it said Angel Fish Brand than under it had a picture of a angelfish and under that said Tokyo japan, well every search tactic i have tried on the web has lead me no where and i cannot find any information on it at all as the year the kind of bamboo or how much it cost or worth anything today.. Is there any place that you can search vintage fishing poles?

I have a fly fishing rod that I would like to sell but am not sure about it. It was given to me as a gift many years ago and I have yet to use it so I have opted to try to sell it however, there is not a company logo on it. Which leaves me to believe it may be custom made which is likely since it was given to me by a person that makes fly reels. It is very dark green, bamboo handles with silver end and black graphite (I think) where the reel goes. The only writing seems to be handwritten stating 9′ 6wt. in silver then up the rod the same silver handwritting states 15", 18" 21". If anyone has any info that may be helpful I would greatly appreciate it.

My boyfriend loves fly fishing and I would like to give him a nice and good fly fishing rod for his birthday.
What other brand is good if this one is not ?

I just got a fly rod the other day and it broke on our camping trip. I have to send in a form and I am not sure what the parts are the fly rod? Does anyone know the a website that has a picture of a Fly fishing rod and it shows the names of the parts of the fly rod?
