Fly fishing for brown trout with grasshopper dry flies and hand planed bamboo fly rods in the wild west’s rattlesnake infested waters.

Looking at fishing places such as jetties, off rocks and estuaries etc. Trying for the occasional trout, tailors, breams and the like.
Any suggestions for rods that come with reel? I’m looking around more or less dependent on whether a couple more bucks is worth it. Been to BCF wondering if there’s other places to look and been considering ebay.

I’m looking to get this rod and reel combo. It’s called the scientific Angler rod and reel combo for panfish and I’m wondering if this would be a good beginner for trout that are about 12-16 inches long. Here’s the link.

Also, i need to know if i need and extra line, backing, leader and what kind of flies.(I think dry for beginner?)
does anyone think i could catch decent size trout with this

I Like to fish a fairly small river the Powell River to be specific for smallmouth and the clinch for fairly large trout. I’d like to keep it fairly cheap any ideas?

I’ve searched some sporting goods stores around my area but have found a couple st. croix rods that were expensive. I’m looking for something small and simple. About 5 or 6 foot with small reel for trout fishing made in the USA, is there anything out there? I’m willing to spend about 0.

im a veteran fresh water trout fly fisherman and an avid saltwater fisherman, but ive yet to take the leap into saltwater fly fishing. im going to be visiting Belize, which im told has excellent flats and mangrove fishing. i need to buy a fly fishing rod and reel to do the job. i pretty much just need a versatile setup that can handle permit,bone-fish, small to medium tarpon and snook. what is a good recommended weight/ size/class ?

Hi;

I’m looking for general tips on fishing while cloudy.

-I can’t fly fish.
-I live in Alberta, plenty of pothole lakes, atypical to find deeper lakes inside an hour’s drive.
-I fish mostly Pike, but will be getting lures for brook and rainbow trout, as well as perch.
-typically fish from a canoe, but do some shore fishing as well.

I need information on what kinds of lures to use, for instance, do I use darker lures on cloudy days, or shinier ones on cloudy days? what works for the type of fish I fish?

Pretty new to fishing, any tips would help alot
